If you want to launch a marketplace without building one from scratch, the shortlist usually comes down to a handful of options. This comparison explains what each type of product is, who it suits, and what to check before you buy. Disclosure: we make VendMart, so we have included it and tried to be fair to the others. Details change, so confirm pricing and features on each vendor's own website.
How we compare them
Every option below is judged on the same questions: how it is hosted, how it is licensed, what it is built on, whether it includes mobile apps, and how much control you get over the code. Price matters, but only when you compare what each tier actually includes. For the full buying framework, read our complete guide to multi-vendor marketplace scripts.

VendMart
VendMart is a self-hosted multi-vendor script built on PHP Laravel and MySQL. You get the source code, an admin panel, a vendor panel and a customer app, and the higher tiers add the vendor app, delivery app and a Flutter website. Licenses are one-time. You can open the live demo before buying, and see the tiers on the pricing page.
6amMart
6amMart is a self-hosted Laravel script aimed at delivery marketplaces. Its top package includes a car rental module and a vendor website builder, which VendMart does not have. Our 6amMart vs VendMart page has a table of tiers and prices as listed in September 2026.
Yo!Kart
Yo!Kart is another self-hosted multi-vendor marketplace script. Check its current pricing, bundled apps and update terms directly on its website. Our Yo!Kart alternative page lists the questions worth asking any script vendor.
Dokan and WCFM
Both are plugins that turn a WooCommerce store into a marketplace. They are a natural choice if your site already runs on WordPress, because you keep your theme, content and plugins. The trade-off is that you are tied to the WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystem, and performance and updates depend on that stack. See Dokan vs VendMart and the WCFM alternative for the differences, and Laravel vs WordPress for ecommerce for the wider question.
Shopify with multi-vendor apps
Shopify is a hosted store builder. Multi-vendor features usually come from third-party apps, and fees are monthly, so cost grows as you grow. It is the easiest path to a first version but offers the least control over your platform. Our Shopify multi-vendor alternative page covers the self-hosted route.
Hosted marketplace platforms
Hosted marketplace builders let you launch quickly without managing servers. You usually pay monthly or take a revenue share, and you do not own the code. Read PHP script vs SaaS ecommerce and the total cost of ownership comparison before choosing this route.
Popular scripts on CodeCanyon
CodeCanyon lists dozens of Laravel multi-vendor scripts. Names that come up often include Active eCommerce CMS, MartFury, GeniusCart, eShop Plus (a Laravel admin with a Flutter app), zCart, TopCommerce and the 6amTech scripts 6amMart, 6Valley and StackFood. Open-source options such as Bagisto with a marketplace add-on also exist. Many comparison lists are written by vendors that sell scripts themselves, so treat their rankings with care and check each item's recent sales, update dates and reviews before you buy. For the differences that matter, read CodeCanyon vs buying direct and these side-by-side pages: 6Valley vs VendMart, Active eCommerce CMS alternative and StackFood alternative.
How to choose
- Need full control and a low long-term cost? Choose a self-hosted script.
- Already on WordPress? A plugin like Dokan or WCFM keeps everything in one place.
- Want zero server management? Consider a hosted platform and accept the monthly cost.
- Running deliveries? Check which script includes the rider app and dispatch tools, and read the food delivery marketplace script page.
Whatever you shortlist, try its live demo, read the license terms and ask for the update policy in writing. See all VendMart comparisons for the side-by-side pages, or what to look for in a Laravel multi-vendor script.
